Effortlessly is the second single from my upcoming EP “If you just” due to be released in spring 2023. It is one of the very few hopeful songs I’ve ever written, which practically poured out of me one rainy day (no pun intended) while I was tinkering with my guitar in an attempt to pick myself up. It’s addressed as much to other people as to my past self, who often found it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

When I took it to my producer, Jerold Chu, our visions for the song were incredibly similar, so it developed very organically from there. As we’re both in the jazz scene and know a pool of excellent musicians, finding the right people to play on it was a piece of cake. The recording process was a creative one - we let the song take us where it wanted to go, rather than the other way around.
